At one point, workers might need to carry large pieces of equipment up to your commercial building’s roof. They will have a hard time carrying the equipment through the small opening of the roof hatch, which is why the best option is to replace the roof hatch with a larger opening. We are here to introduce to you the RHA-A5656. This roof hatch features a nominal hatch size of 48” x 48”, ensuring large pieces of equipment can pass through to the roof. What you need to know about the cover is it’s a double-skin construction (“in box type design”) with 1” cellulose insulation and a continuous EPDM draft/weather seal gasket attached to the inside of the cover. The EPDM gasket provides a flush, tight fit. The cover is designed to support a live load of 40 lbs./sq. ft., the cover is a 14 gauge galvanized steel with a 22 gauge galvanized steel inside liner. For the curb, it’s a 14 gauge galvanized steel with 1” thick fiberboard roof insulation at the exterior. The curb is 12” high, with 3.375” wide bottom flange and pre-drilled mounting holes. 

The roof hatch has heavy-duty galvanized steel pintle hinges with a ⅜” pin. The roof latch is a self-latching, zinc plated outside T handle with stainless steel inside lock and lever assembly. The hatch is assisted with gas spring operators allowing the cover to operate without a fuss. There is an inside pull handle, allowing for easy control when closing the cover.
